Etüt; düşünceyi, deneyimi, beceriyi paylaşmak için bir davet ve aynı zamanda bağımsız kültür ve sanat toplulukları, inisiyatifler ve kolektifler olarak nasıl çalıştığımız, nasıl daha farklı çalışabileceğimiz ve nasıl çalışmak istediğimiz üzerine bir kolektif beyin fırtınası olarak ortaya çıktı. ‘Biz’ olmak, bazılarının ‘biz olmayan’ olmasından geçiyorsa kimleri içeri alıp kimleri dışarıda bıraktığımız ve bir topluluk oluşturmanın sınırlar koymak zorunluluğu ile ilişkisini sorgularken, sınırların neredeyse yok olduğu veya en azından sınırları belirleyen bir seçici/denetleyi otoritenin olmadığı bir platform yaratmayı hayal ettik. Etüt’ün üçüncü ve son daveti olarak da daha önceki davetlerden çok daha açık ve akışkan bir topluluk için bir adım atıyoruz. Burası uluslararası bağımsız aktörlerin, oluşumların ve kolektif çalışma pratiklerini benimsemiş kültür ve sanat üreticilerinin bir araya gelebileceği ve ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda kullanabilecekleri bir ‘neredeyse-açık’ alan. Biz olmayı sorgulamak, yeni ortaklıklar oluşturmak, bizim de sorduğumuz bu soruları birlikte veya ayrı ayrı sormaktansa bu sorulara yeni sorular eklemek, arayışları ve cevapları paylaşmak, yardımlaşmak, tanışmak için açık bir davet. Umarız bu daveti kabul eder, biz olma ihtimallerine heyecanlanırsınız.
Study Session emerged as a collective brainstorming and a meditation on how we work, how we would like to work and how, we can work differently as independent artists and cultural producers, initiatives and collectives. A ‘we’ always implies a ‘them’ or ‘those left outside.’ Questioning who or what contributes to our communities and collectives and the notions of limits in relation to communities, we wanted to create a platform where the boundaries are much more porous without a selecting/monitoring authority. The third and last invitation of Study Session is one that is much more open, welcoming, and fluid. This is an ‘almost-open’ platform where international independent producers, initiatives, collectives, and artists and thinkers whose practices are concerned with collective modes of working can get together and use according to their urgencies and needs. It is an invitation to question what it means to be a ‘we’, to form new collaborations, to add more questions to those we have raised rather than asking the same questions and looking for answers individually, share knowledges, to help or simply to meet one another. We hope you take on this invitation and share our excitement for contemplating the possibilities of ‘we’s.
